Choose The Right Living Room Colors And Enrich Your Home

Are you confused about what living room colors are the best or most current?  Do not let your decision making process keep you from decorating your home.  While some choices are better than others, everyone can enrich their home with a few pointers. Whether you want to create a fresh look by redecorating or are preparing an empty space, it is not only about the walls.  The floor covers, furniture and accessory pieces also need to fit the design format.

First, specific color and shade will create a mood. Select living room colors that suit your style and personality, but be sure it is practical.  This may seem like a challenge, but the wall paint will have the most influence in a space. Use one or two colors.  For a sophisticated look, try white and a darker tint. Behr Liberty 580D-6 is an excellent blue choice; combined with, Frost 2057, white with a hint of blue, just like ice.  For a daring statement, a solid red will be perfect.  Here, try Deep Garnet 110F-7 by Behr, very elegant.  Lighter colors will make a room appear bigger and neutrals are great for resale.

The next step is the furniture. When you come right down to it, comfort is priority.  On the other hand, mixed matched sofa and chairs will make a room appear cluttered and small.  Whether your interior is formal, modern, or traditional, take your matching paint swatch to the store.  Be careful, sometimes tans have yellow or pinkish undertones and white or gray can look very different in various lighting.  If your baseboards are a neutral accent color, try matching your sofa. If you prefer shopping online, an excellent tool for furniture color schemes is, Target.com, “colors-of-living-rooms”. It is easy to use and offers a variety of products; which, are reasonably priced. For instance, you are decorating your first apartment, and have decided to go red. One click and there is the option of choosing a couple modern Bentwood Chairs, Catalog #: 10665905. A nice accent piece, the Red Manor Mirror is shown on the same page Catalog #: 550790.  Next, for a gray accent, add the Contemporary Single sleeper, a functional piece for little spaces Catalog #: 12243338.

In conclusion, the correct living room colors will enrich your interior design.  Our moods are stimulated by the color that surrounds us.  A few current trends include a palette of turquoise, jade and yellow-green; a scheme of red and cream that can be matched with classic pieces to enhance a traditional room; perhaps, try an uplifting fuchsia to add passion, accented with lighter greens for an organic feel.  Not only will updating color in living areas breath new life into a familiar surrounding, it is a way to create your very own wow factor.
